- 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women has been observed in an event titled “ to raise awareness for the violence against women. The event, which has been organized in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and with the financial support of the Office of European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aids Operations (ECHO) within a protocol signed with Hacettepe University’s Women’s Research and Implementation Centre (HUWRIC) and Directorate of Public Health of Ankara. United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Turkey office’s Youth Center in Diyarbakır, which is run by UNFPA's impelenting partner Community Volunteers Foundation, organized a sports activity event branded as “Overhead kick for healthy tomorrows” on 18 October 2017. The main aim of this event is to enable social inclusion of the Syrian refugees into the local community they are all now part of. With this friendship match, the organizers hope to accomplish three goals: To have Syrian young men to take part in healthy activities; to open new ways for communication and interactions with the locals; to show that these sports activities can be considered more than just a hobby.
