In Ankara, Hacettepe University Women's Research and Implementation Center (HUWRIC) is implementing 3 of the WGSS which are integrated to migrant health centers in collaboration with Ministry of Health (MoH) Provincial Public Health Directorate and funded by ECHO – European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid.
Olivier Cadic, Senator for French citizens living abroad, visited one of the WGSS in Ankara at Gulveren neighborhood on 14 June 2017. After a tour in the center, Mr. Cadic was briefed by MoH, UNFPA and HUWRIC representatives on the refugee response in terms of health and gender-based violence in Turkey.
Olivier Cadic was quite appreciative of the visit to WGSS in Gulveren Ankara. He spoke to beneficiary women during a training on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) provided by Syrian refugee doctor. The center has provided SRH and gender-based violence services to more than 5500 beneficiaries up to date.
